VIDEO: Ondo Man Reportedly Beats Wife Unconscious, Pleads For Her To Wake Up
A distressing incident has unfolded in Ore, Ondo State, where a woman named Blessing, alias ‘Iya Dada,’ was allegedly brutally beaten by her husband, leaving her unconscious.
Footage obtained by Koiki Media reveals the horrific attack occurred early Monday morning on Oladokun Street.
According to the narration in the video, Blessing has long suffered domestic violence at the hands of her spouse, notorious for his history of abuse.
Despite efforts, SaharaReporters was unable to confirm Blessing’s current status, whether she succumbed to her injuries or was revived. Additionally, attempts to reach the Ondo State Police Command for official comment were unsuccessful.
The command spokesperson, Odunlami Ibukun did not answer her calls and had yet to reply to a text message sent to her.
The narrator said: “This is Ore town in Oladokun Street, that is how he beat her daily. Today is 23/9/2024. You have killed her.
“This man always beat his wife and now he has killed her. The time is 6:18 am. Don’t let him run away. You have killed her and this was not the first time you would beat her. We used to call the woman ‘Iya Dada’.”
In the video, the husband struggles to wake his wife up. He is heard saying: “Blessing, please stand up,” with teary eyes.
Domestic violence is a major social concern in Nigeria. For Instance, in August 2024, Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) reported soaring domestic and sexual violence cases over a 10-month period from September 2023 to July 2024.
