A video has been circulating online showing Ghanaian youths rejecting bags of rice from a politician, with the youths boldly stating “We need jobs, not rice”.
This incident occurred in Busunu, a location in the West Gonja Municipality of Ghana.
According to reports, the politician, a member of Ghana’s Parliament, had distributed bags of rice to the community as a form of support. However, the youths refused to accept the gift, instead demanding job opportunities and a sustainable means of livelihood.

Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, reacted to the video, praising the Ghanaian youths for their bold stance and urging Nigerian youths to emulate their example.

In the widely shared WhatsApp post, it states that the youths demanded jobs, improved standard of living instead of rice.
