In every political journey, there comes a defining fork in the road—a moment where indecision becomes a decision in itself, and often a costly one. For us in the Oyo State chapter of our great party, the PDP, that moment is now. As the fabric of our unity shows signs of fraying at the edges, we must resist the temptation to panic or to grasp at straws. Instead, this is the time to remember the old wisdom that a stitch in time saves nine. It is incumbent upon us to wear the cap of thoughtful reflection and rally around a governorship candidate who is not a gamble, but a guarantee.

We need a flagbearer who is already prepared, tested, and perfectly suited for the task of leading Oyo State—like a star-drive screw, ready to fit and function without hesitation. To choose otherwise would be to put the cart before the horse, investing precious time and energy in experiments when what we need is proven competence. This is the surest and most constructive path to regain public confidence and restore the trust and approval of the people of Oyo State, who are watching us closely.
OPINION: Oyo 2027 — What If the Choice Is Bimbo Adekanmbi?
Let us be clear-eyed. We must look beyond primordial sentiments that often cloud judgment. As O. B. Lawuyi aptly reminds us, “the heart that inclines the self to less passionate conviction can blur clarity of purpose.” In other words, we must not throw the baby out with the bathwater in a fit of emotion. Now is not the time for emotional indecision; it is the time for calculated resolve. Look before you leap, for a misstep here could hand our collective ambition to the opposition.

This is not the time to try on different shoes in the hope of finding a Cinderella fit. It is the time to make a firm decision and pick the right fit—the one that has already been tried and tested. We must avoid what Sydney Smith wisely cautioned against: putting a square peg in a round hole, an act that guarantees misalignment, friction, and ultimately, poor outcomes. In the politics of Oyo State, such misalignment is a luxury we cannot afford. A house divided against itself cannot stand, and we must not allow avoidable discord to weaken our strength ahead of the governorship election.
Oyo 2027: The Strategic Imperative of Supporting Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi
Bimbo Adekanmbi stands out as that ready and capable choice—a candidate who represents alignment, not experiment. Any alternative at this critical juncture would amount to shooting in the dark, a risk we cannot afford to take. Fools rush in where angels fear to tread; let us not rush into uncertainty when a proven path lies before us.

Our goal is clear: to win the governorship of Oyo State for the PDP. And win we shall—if we make the right choice. Strike while the iron is hot. The opportunity for a decisive, unified front is before us. Let us not count our chickens before they are hatched by entertaining distractions, but instead focus our energy on a candidate who gives us the best chance of victory at the polls.

Let us, therefore, set aside unnecessary anxiety and keep our eyes on the prize. By settling on Bimbo Adekanmbi as our governorship candidate, we choose the path of least resistance and greatest promise. After all, a good beginning makes a good end, and this is the good beginning Oyo PDP needs.
