The RAMADAN Effect: 3 States Make Unexpected Announcement
The Katsina State Hisbah Board has directed all private schools in the state to suspend academic activities during the holy month of Ramadan. This move is aimed at allowing students to fully observe the holy month. Hisbah commander-general, Aminu Usman, emphasized that schools must comply with this directive.
It’s worth noting that Hisbah Boards in Nigeria, like the one in Kano State, serve as custodians of Islamic values and principles, promoting adherence to Sharia law while fostering social harmony and moral integrity within the Muslim community.
Similarly, the Bauchi State government has announced a five-week closure of schools to accommodate Muslim students observing Ramadan. Schools in Bauchi will be closed from February 26, 2025, until the end of Ramadan and the Salah celebrations, with classes resuming on April 6, 2025.
In addition, the Kebbi State government has also revised its 2024/2025 academic calendar, ending the second term on February 28, 2025, and commencing a Ramadan break on March 1, with schools set to reopen for the third term on April 7, 2025.
