Sunday Igboho Sends Message to FG, Makes Striking Comment on Tinubu’s Second Term

Yoruba Nation agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has appealed to the Federal Government to remove his name from the wanted list and prioritize security in the South West.
The activist made the call during a visit to the palace of the Olugbon of Orile Igbon, Oba Francis Olusola Alao, on Tuesday, where he sought royal support for his full reintegration into Nigerian society.
“I am not happy that I am not free in my own fatherland,” Igboho said. “The Federal Government should remove my name from the wanted list because I am not a criminal. I am being threatened constantly, and I cannot even sleep in my house. During a recent visit to the Nigerian embassy in Germany, I was told I couldn’t obtain a passport because the FG had declared me wanted. I just want to be free.”

He also raised concerns over worsening insecurity in the South West and called for the appointment of competent hands to tackle the problem. “If they won’t let me handle it, they should assign it to someone capable. We’ll give our full support,” he added.
Igboho expressed deep gratitude to Oba Alao for his consistent support during his legal battles abroad. “Oba Olugbon is one of the few royal fathers who stood by me. I truly appreciate him,” he said.

I Don’t Work For Politicians But…. — Sunday Igboho
In response, Oba Alao praised Igboho as a “true patriot” whose agitation helped pave the way for the emergence of a Yoruba president.
“You are not a criminal. Your actions, in some way, contributed to the emergence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I appeal to the President to grant you a full pardon and restore your rights,” the monarch said.
The Olugbon also pledged to engage other key traditional rulers and political leaders across the South West in support of Igboho’s return, saying, “Enough of your stay abroad. We need you back home.”
Sanwo-Olu Sends Powerful Message to Tinubu Amid 2027 Opposition Coalition Threat
He further endorsed Igboho for a formal role in regional security management: “The Federal Government has its national plans, but in the South West, we trust your capacity. I’ll be sending a formal recommendation to the governors and President Tinubu within the next 48 hours.”
Looking ahead, the monarch expressed optimism about the future of Yoruba leadership in Nigeria, stating, “Tinubu will complete his eight years. A Yoruba man will remain in the presidency until 2031.”
