In a bold and unified move, the Conference of Chairmen of the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC) in the Southwest geopolitical zone has pledged firm support for the national leadership of President Blessing Akinlosotu. This collective endorsement comes ahead of the much-anticipated NYC National Convention, scheduled to hold on July 30, 2025, signaling a strong regional commitment to stability, progress, and inclusive youth leadership.
Aare Adedara Temitope Moses, Chairman of the Southwest Conference of NYC Chairmen, hailed President Akinlosotu’s transformational leadership and unwavering focus on youth development, national unity, and capacity building. “We are proud of the direction the NYC has taken under President Akinlosotu’s stewardship. His vision and dedication are commendable,” said Aare Adedara.
The Southwest bloc announced that all six states in the region have completed the careful selection of delegates to represent their interests at the upcoming convention. The chairmen reaffirmed their commitment to a democratic, transparent, and inclusive process that empowers young Nigerians and strengthens the NYC’s institutional credibility.
In light of the national significance of the convention, the group issued a respectful appeal to state governments across the country to ensure adequate security for all delegates. “This convention is pivotal to the future of Nigerian youths. We urge relevant authorities to safeguard the lives and aspirations of those who will participate,” the statement read.
