The Afijio Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of former Council Chairman and respected party stakeholder, Hon. Owolabi Folaranmi.
Hon. Folaranmi, fondly called “Owoblow”, was widely regarded as a leader whose life embodied selfless service, dedication, and an unwavering passion for the growth of Afijio Local Government.
Reacting to the sad development, Hon. Olaleye Olusegun Thomas (SOT), a PDP chieftain in Afijio, expressed deep grief over the loss, describing the late politician as more than a leader but also a beacon of hope and strength to the community.
“Hon. Folaranmi’s legacy of service, loyalty to party ideals, and genuine concern for the people will forever remain with us. He inspired many with his courage and commitment, and his contributions will not be forgotten,” SOT stated.

The PDP in Afijio also extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, praying for God’s comfort and strength during this difficult time.
Party members noted that Hon. Folaranmi’s passing is not only a huge loss to the PDP but also to the entire Afijio community, which benefited immensely from his vision and leadership.
