Public Holiday: FG Announces Monday, September 22, as Work-Free Day
The Ministry of the Interior of Ghana has announced that Monday, September 22, 2025, will be observed as a statutory public holiday to commemorate Founder’s Day.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Ministry explained that this year’s Founder’s Day, which falls on Sunday, September 21, coincides with a weekend. As a result, President John Mahama, by an Executive Instrument, has declared the following Monday as an additional holiday in line with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act (Act 601), as amended.
