The main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said Nigerians ought not to buy premium motor spirit, locally called fuel, more than ₦200 per liter if truly the leadership of President Bola Tinubu will be fair to Nigerians.
PDP said that with deft, transparent, innovative management of resources and strategic investment in gas production, fuel should not sell at its current price of ₦700 per litre.

In a statement on Saturday, signed by its National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Debo Ologunagba; PDP also called on President Bola Tinubu to commence the process of recovering alleged ₦50 trillion stolen by allegedly All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders.
PDP’s statement comes as Nigerians are protesting for the third day, demanding a reversal of the fuel subsidy ban by President Tinubu and swift economic intervention from the federal government amid hardship and hunger.
The statement read in part: “Our Party insists that with a deft, transparent and innovative management of resources, economic potentials, comparative advantage and refining capacity, petrol should not sell more than N200 per liter in Nigeria, especially with a strategic investment in gas production.
“President Tinubu should also urgently commence the process of recovering the over N50 trillion reportedly stolen by APC leaders, reduce tariffs on essential goods, cut the cost of governance, review all luxury items in his government and channel funds recovered to programmes that have direct bearing on the wellbeing of Nigerians.”
