In the bid to provide educational opportunity for all classes of people in the society, the Polytechnic Ibadan has launched an Open Distance And Flexible E-Learning (ODFeL) programme.
The newly invented programme was aimed at addressing the frustration of millions of admission seekers irrespective of their social classes, as it will be available for all.
Explaining the NBTE approved scheme to journalists on Monday, in Ibadan, the Rector of institution, Prof. Kazeem Adebiyi, said the scheme is an education for all scheme irregardless of the individual’s ability.
He said: “Some people want to go to school but are not opportuned, some are of the working class but don’t have the time, some are physically challenged, so this scheme will offer opportunity for all people.”

While promising an uninterrupted academic calendar, the Rector also stated that classes will be taken online but the exams will be written physically.
While stating that potential ODFeL students will pay the application fee of N2000 and N5000 for ND and HND respectively, Professor Adebiyi also stated that the graduands of the Poly Ibadan ODFeL will be mobilized for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
He also noted that 2020 NBTE approved scheme is opened for the 2022/2023 academic session, starting with six available courses, which includes Accountancy, Business Administration, Computer Science, Mass Communication, Public Administration and Local Government Studies.
He, however said they are planning to expand to other courses, which will commence next session.
