The Executive Chairman, Olorunsogo Local government area of Oyo state, Hon. Qozeem Olayanju, has announced the 3rd of December, 2024, for the commissioning of two Amotekun outposts in the Igbeti area of the local government.

The amotekun offices newly built by Hon Olayanju’s administration are stations constructed at Tesi Garuba (federal government reserve) along Igbeti-Kisi road while the second post is situated at Budo Ayinla, Igbeti-Igboho road ( FG Reserve Area) for operatives of the security outfit to tackle banditry, kidnapping, illegal mining, and armed robbery in flashpoints.
This initiative is in line and to complement the efforts of the Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde at maintaining a safe and secured Oyo state.

Olayanju while speaking with journalists after inspection of the Amotekun outposts said the offices which are the first phase of the four befitting offices to be constructed for the personnel, will be commissioned by the Oyo State Amotekun commandant, Col. Olayinka Olayanju on 3rd December, 2024.
He said other dignitaries expected at the event are Chief JG Adetoro, the Asiwaju of Igbeti Land; Hon. Abiodun Oni, the Chairman Oyo state Agency For Solid Minerals and the Onigbeti of Igbeti Engr. Bashir Olamilekan Abioye among others.
According to him, Olorunsogo local government is one of the major council areas in Oke Ogun being affected by the activities of kidnappers, bandits and illegal miners who have continuously hibernated in federal government reserves in Igbeti and its environs
Hon Olayanju said many of the reported cases of kidnapping, banditry and illegal mining in the council were carried out in the forest reserves and remote areas which are usually difficult for Amotekun operatives to quickly respond to, due to the distance from their main office to affected areas.
He said with the newly built outposts, Amotekun operatives will be able to launch attacks on criminals as they are now strategically positioned in affected areas.
