No fewer than two hundred and fifty (250) farmers across Ona-Ara Local Government, were presented with farm inputs, equipments and machineries to support their farming.
While presenting the materials, The Executive Chairman of Ona-Ara Local Government, Hon. Sanusi Musibau Adesina, popularly known as SHABA appreciates the farmer’s and stakeholder’s efforts in the development of agriculture, especially in food production.
He stated further that, for any nation to reduce poverty, raises income and improve food security, agriculture must be given adequate attention.
He said the gesture is part of his efforts in developing agriculture, most especially at the grassroot.
He therefore enjoined all farmers to ensure that they put all the machineries and farm inputs into good use especially during this raining season. He admonished farmers present to double their efforts in ensuring more food production.

The council boss said more is coming, as he will continue to prioritize agriculture as one of the pillar of his administration, as he has been doing in the past, which includes distribution of cassava stems, palm oil seedlings, fertilizers, pesticides, agriculture support loans, provision of hecters of farmlands, training of closed to hundreds of youths in Agricbusiness at Nasarawa and many others.
In their separate remarks, Baale Agbe of Ona-Ara Local Government, Chief Akintola Olatunji Kasali appreciate Hon. SHABA for fulfilling his promises, he stated further that just recently the Executive Chairman met with farmers in Ona-Ara Local Government and promised them of government intervention to their various demands, and here is the fulfilment of his promises.

He therefore on behalf of the entire farmers in Ona-Ara LGA promised their unflinching support to the present administration in Ona-Ara Local Government and Oyo State.
Also, the chairman of Association of Farmers in Nigeria, Ona-Ara LGA chapter, Mr Oladosu showered encomiums on Hon. SHABA for his various developmental programs and policies in Ona-Ara LG, especially as it has to do with agriculture.
He pray that God Almighty will see the council boss through in office, even beyond second term.
He also used the medium to solicit for his colleagues support for second term ambition of the council boss, saying ”BI AWO BA KI FUNNI, AKI FUN AWO PADA NI.”
He used the medium to advise his colleagues to ensure they put the items into good use and not to sell.
In his remarks, the local government director of agriculture and natural resources, Mr. Babalola appreciate the council boss for his mutual understanding and support. He said Chairman has always put the love of the farmers at heart. He enjoined the farmers to see the gesture as an opportunity to develop their self and farming system. He promised those that do not benefits in this batch, to look forward to another batch as the council boss had promised more for the farmers in the local government.
Hon. Musibau Adejare, Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture and Natural Resources in his vote of thanks, appreciate the council boss, local government executive council, management staff, farmers and all the stakeholders for their attendance and cooperation.
