….commends Gov Makinde initiative for PWDs
THE Joint National Association For Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD) Ona-Ara Local Government chapter hold her meeting today 23rd March, 2024 at Sawia Garage, Olorunshogo, Ibadan under the leadership of Comrade Ajibade Yemisi.
The meeting which was monitored by Egalitarian Voice witnessed large turnout of Persons with disabilities in the local government.
The Association Chairman for Ona-Ara Local Government, Comrade Ajibade Yemisi commended Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde and the Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Disabilities matters, Barrister Ayodele Adekambi for their empathetic disposition towards the community of persons with disabilities and for launching various initiatives beneficial to persons with disabilities in Oyo State.
The Secretary of the group who is also the Super For Environmental and Disability Matters in Ona-Ara localgovernment, Comrade Olayiwola Yisau also appreciate the governor for all the interventions meant to ensure better welfare for people with disabilities while seeking more support from the government to members.
“We thank His Excellency for matching words with actions as demonstrated in your various interventions to persons with disabilities like reserving a position for persons disabilities throughout all the Thirty-three(33) local government of the state and many others palliatives been put in place so far.
“We are indeed grateful for this opportunity and convinced that you really meant what you said at your second term inaugural speech that “persons with disabilities will be treated like other citizens and they will be given their rightful position in government.
“We look more for more dividend of democracy under your leadership sir”, Yisau stated.
