PDP NEC Confirms Real National Secretary, Reaffirms Party Unity
The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday June 30, 2025 has officially confirmed Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the party’s National Secretary ending recent disputes surrounding the position. The announcement was made by Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum during a NEC meeting at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja, Egalitarian Voice reports.
The party leadership declared that the PDP remains united, denying reports of internal divisions, coalitions, or rival groups. Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Governor Bala Mohammed, stated that past disagreements have been resolved and the National Working Committee (NWC) now enjoys full support.

He praised the efforts of party leaders, particularly at the grassroots level, for maintaining stability and countered defection rumors as false narratives aimed at creating tension. The PDP, he emphasized, is focused on its role in shaping Nigeria’s political future.
