“Atiku Will Be a Great President—He Has Solid Plans for All Nigerians,” She adds.
Hon. Bolanle Aminat Sarumi (BASA), a bold and vocal political figure in Oyo State, has sent shockwaves across the political landscape by declaring that Nigerians are tired of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP). She insisted that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is the future and the true platform for national rescue and transformation.
Speaking during a live interview on the popular political programme “Politics Now,” hosted by Mr. Olatunde Idowu (D’General) on a leading Ibadan radio station today, Wednesday, July 23, 2025, BASA passionately shared her vision and confidence in ADC’s rising momentum, stating her readiness to make history as Nigeria’s first female governor.
“I’m confident that by 2027, His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde will hand over to me as the first female governor in Nigeria,” she said.
BASA didn’t hold back, declaring: “PDP and APC have expired. The only thing left in Oyo PDP is the governor himself. Nigerians are tired, and ADC is here to rescue our people.”
She added that her political foundation is rooted in ADC, “my political journey began in ADC in 2018. Many in PDP and APC will soon join us because they believe in our vision of true grassroots empowerment.”
Hon. BASA currently serves as the national chairperson of the Atikulated Global Movement—a coalition of all PDP aspirants and candidates from the 2022 primaries—and is also the national leader of the Nigerian Youths and Women Rescue Mission, championing nationwide advocacy for inclusive governance, youth empowerment, and women’s leadership.
On her vision for Oyo State, BASA emphasized:
“My plans for the people are centered on empowerment — empowerment for all. We must uplift families, communities, and the state as a whole.”
She acknowledged Governor Seyi Makinde’s efforts in regular salary and pension payments but stated clearly that Oyo needs more:
“I give kudos to the governor for paying salaries and pensions, but governance must go beyond that. We need deeper reforms and impactful people-focused development.”

Addressing the national situation, she praised former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s leadership capacity, “Atiku will be a great president. He has solid plans for all Nigerians and understands what it takes to rescue this country. His experience and vision are unmatched.”
It will be recalled that Hon. Bolanle Aminat Sarumi (BASA) recently revalidated her membership with ADC by collecting her membership card at Ward 5, Ibadan North Local Government, as part of her widespread grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.
