The Oyo State chapter of the Association of Tutorial School Operators (ATSO) has expressed its readiness to compete favourably with other states in the country by producing students with outstanding overall results in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
This declaration was made by the State Governor of the association, Hon. Oladipupo Olalekan Shakirudeen, during the association’s end-of-year programme.

According to him, the association has set a clear and focused agenda aimed at academic excellence. “Oyo ATSO has a major target, and we are committed to deploying all available resources and expertise to achieve it. We are determined to ensure that Oyo State records one of the best overall UTME results in 2026, and we will not relent until this goal is realised,” he stated.
Hon. Shakirudeen further called on the Oyo State Government to partner with and support tutorial schools in achieving this objective. He noted that although tutorial schools are privately owned, their success directly contributes to the academic reputation of the state.
“Our efforts go beyond private investment. What we are striving to achieve will not only reflect our commitment to quality teaching and student development, but will also enhance Oyo State’s standing as a centre of academic excellence,” he said.

He therefore appealed to the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde to consider the inclusion of students enrolled in accredited tutorial schools in the state’s 2026 education budget, describing such support as a strategic investment in the future of education and human capital development in Oyo State.
