Egalitarian Voice Media reports that ahead of the Saturday, 27th April local government election in Oyo State, electoral officers, political parties, and other critical stakeholders have confirmed the early arrival of both sensitive and non-sensitive materials in Ona-Ara local government.
The arrival of the election materials signals the readiness of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), to conduct hitch-free polls across political wards and units in Ona-Ara.
The stakeholders had earlier been charged to maintain peaceful coexistence and support the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) to conduct a transparent and credible council poll tomorrow.
While addressing the press, the Electoral Officer in Ona-Ara local government, Mr. Adekanmbi Timileyin, charged all stakeholders to continue to support OYSIEC to deliver a free and fair election.
He enjoined the political parties’ stakeholders to caution their supporters against thuggery and hooliganism during tomorrow’s election, as security operatives will not hesitate to deal with violators.
Stakeholders of political parties who also spoke with Egalitarian Voice promised to comply with the rules and regulations of electoral conduct, adding that they will support OYSIEC before, during, and after the polls.
