The Oyo State Commissioner for Lands, Housing, and Urban Development, Mr. Williams Akin-Funmilayo, on Wednesday June 25, 2025 visited the site of the recently collapsed building at Molete Area, where three persons sustained injuries, but no lives were.
During the visit, the commissioner also assessed several structurally weak buildings in the area and issued Quit Notices to the occupants, warning of potential hazards and the need to vacate immediately.
He further visited the Onipepeye, eleyele area, where some buildings were found to be constructed along riverways and too weak for living respectively. Mr. Akin-Funmilayo ordered the immediate halt of such constructions, vacation of outdated house and warned the property owners to comply with state building regulations or face sanctions.

“We will not compromise on safety. All developments must align with proper planning standards to avoid future tragedies,” the commissioner said.
