Oyo Central senatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka has met with the zonal and units representatives of Mandate Group, Ilaka Ambassadors and Isokan Movement for Grassroots Development (Oyo South East LCDAs Residents Forum) to strategist ahead of the coming elections.
The meeting held at Ilaka campaign office, Idi-Ope, Oyo town, had in attendance the group leaders and PDP Stakeholders. The meeting which was interactive in nature afforded each representatives of the various groups present the opportunity to freely express themselves.
While speaking, the leader for Isokan group, Mr. Akin Alawode, noted that the group’s activities are aimed at grassroot development and good governance, and covers 415 villages across Oyo Central Senatorial district and the state.
Alawode maintained the group’s strength lies in their unity as a single entity, he said further, “We’re in total support of Chief Bisi Ilaka, because his vision to transform Oyo Central is in line with the hopes and aspirations of our group in terms of socio-economic, infrastructural Agribusiness development, security, youth and women empowerment”
Alawode assured the senatorial candidates that bloc votes will be delivered to Chief Bisi Ilaka, come february 2023 from all the villages in Oyo Central that the group coordinates.
Equally, the conveners of Ilaka Mandate group led by Mrs Iyabo Ponle and Ilaka ambassadors ably led by Hon Wahab Daud Temitope (Prof T) in their separate remarks t thanked the senatorial candidate for his efforts so far, which has helped improved their efficiency and propagation of Chief Luqman Oyebisi Ilaka across the nooks and crannies of Oyo central senatorial district.
The duo promised to deliver for the senatorial candidate.
In his remarks, Chief Bisi Ilaka a lawyer turned Politician acknowledged and appreciated the various groups. He assured them of a better representation if voted in as the Senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial district.
He promised to look into all the issues raised, and urged them to take charge of their domains in readiness for the elections scheduled for February 2023.
