As part of its goals of ensuring the growth of a public-spirited Agency, the Oyo State Security Network – codenamed Amotekun in partnership with the Tetfund Centre of Excellence in Multidisciplinary Studies, University of Ibadan has organized a 3-day Training Workshop on Conflict Analysis and Community Engagement for its Operatives.
The event which was slated to held between Monday, July 10 and Wednesday, July 13, 2023 is one of the remarkable initiatives of the Agency aimed at training and retraining its operatives deployed across the 33 LGAs of the state.
The Agency holds the belief that operatives having better understanding of its environments, cultural differences and behavioural patterns of members of their community will further assist them to effectively discharge their responsibility.
Consequently, effective community engagement will not only help operatives to combat crimes but also lead to better evaluation by the community.
Therefore, this training workshop will further sharpen the skills and build capacity of the operatives in mediation, conflict analysis, how to engage with various communities to facilitate harmonious n peaceful coexistence amongst the good people of Oyo State.
