In a decisive move to bolster security and safeguard lives and property, the Oyo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun Corps, has carried out a comprehensive clearance operation across the state, Egalitarian Voice reports ….

The operation, which took place on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, involved a contingent of over 300 Amotekun personnel from eight local governments, supported by local hunters. The team meticulously combed the forest reserves between Itesiwaju, Iseyin, Atiba, and Oyo West local government areas, focusing on key locations such as Ipapo, Isalu-Ikere, Fasola, and Elelu villages, as well as the Old Oyo National Park.

The successful operation, conducted under the instruction of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, and led by the Oyo State Amotekun Commandant, Colonel Olayinka Olayanju (rtd), resulted in the apprehension of seven suspects, who were found in possession of various tools, arms, and charms. The suspects have since been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation and prosecution.
