Tede, Oyo State – March 2, 2026
Operatives of the Oyo State Amotekun Corps, Atisbo Command, have arrested three suspected criminals found in possession of two motorcycles under suspicious circumstances.
According to the official situation report, the arrest was made at exactly 21:45 hours on March 2, 2026, following a security alert received from Amotekun operatives stationed along the Ago-Are/Ofiki Road. The operatives intercepted three Fulani herders allegedly attempting to escape with two Haojue Express motorcycles.
The suspects reportedly refused to stop when flagged down, prompting swift reinforcement from Amotekun officers in Ofiki. They were subsequently apprehended and taken into custody.
During interrogation, the suspects stated that they were coming from Ruga Fulani near Budo Aare in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State. Notably, the location is the same general area where a recent kidnapping incident involving Baba Muraina Olomometa was reported.
When questioned about their destination, the suspects claimed they were heading to the Ago-Are cattle market (Kara). However, they were unable to provide any convincing explanation for their movement at that hour. They also failed to present valid ownership documents for the two motorcycles found in their possession, raising strong suspicion of theft and possible criminal intent.
Oyo Amotekun Nabs Four Kidnappers, Recovers AK-49 Rifle, Magazines and Military Uniforms
The suspects have been identified as:
- Aliu Umar (22 years)
- Usman Abubakar (23 years)
- Umar Aliero (20 years)
They have since been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Saki Monitoring/Anti-Kidnapping Unit, for further investigation and necessary action.
