Oyo Amotekun Arraigns Two Suspects Over Conspiracy And Robbery

The Oyo State Security Network codenamed Amotekun Corps has charged two suspects named Umar Babuga and Aliyu Mohammed to court for alleged conspiracy, robbery and attempted Murder.
The suspects were arraigned before Ibadan North-East Magistrate court on the above criminal acts.
Oyo State Counsel, Barrister Osuolale says the defendants committed the offences on 6th Of August, 2022 at about 21:00hours at Alaako Area and were apprehended on 7th August, 2022 at Elere Village in Ido LGA of Oyo State.
“They both conspired to commit felony against Mr. Korede Matthew where they deprived him of his motorcycle and the sum of Two hundreds and seventy thousand Naira (#270,000) along Alaako area of Ido LGA on 6th August, 2022.”
“Umar Babuga and Aliyu Mohammed possesses matchets and Cattle Prod(Sannda) while carrying out their horrific act”, Barrister Osuolale Stated.

The counsel therefore stated that the suspects were arraigned before the Magistrate court base on the criminal acts from section 516 of the criminal code, Cap38, VOL II, Laws of Oyo State, 2000 and urged the court to remand the defendants in the correctional Centre for further investigation.
The defendants however pleaded not guilty of the offense.
In his remark, the trial Magistrate of IBNE , therefore ordered that the defendants be remand at the Abolongo Correctional Centre, Oyo, Oyo State.
The Magistrate thereafter adjourned the case to September 15th, 2022 for further hearing.
