The Oyo State New Towns and Cities Development Authority (OYNTCDA) has reaffirmed its commitment to building a new era of urban transformation in Oyo State, with Ibadan as a major hub for the unfolding smart city revolution.
Speaking during the official unveiling of the Authority’s development roadmap, the Executive Adviser and Director-General, Mrs. Mofoluke Adebiyi, underscored the agency’s mandate to simplify urban planning processes and usher in modern, well-structured, and sustainable city development.
“We are here to provide ease of planning for a smart urban city that supports sustainable development and progress. Our vision is to reposition Oyo State — starting with Ibadan — as a model for modern urban living, by removing planning bottlenecks, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring infrastructure that works for all,” Mrs. Adebiyi declared.
She emphasized that the OYNTCDA is fully aligned with the administration of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, in delivering infrastructural renewal, environmental sustainability, and economic growth. According to her, the new roadmap represents more than just planning reforms; it is a bold step towards a smarter, greener, and more prosperous Ibadan and Oyo State.
