Omidiji, in an exclusive interview with Sunday PUNCH, said Adeleke’s alleged move to the APC was already causing discontent within both the PDP and APC, leading some aggrieved members to align with the ADC.
“We will be so happy if he decamps to the APC. It will be a problem for us if he stays in the PDP,” Omidiji said.

He explained that the ADC has been receiving new members from both major parties:
“A lot of PDP and APC members have already joined us. So, our prayer is for him to join the APC. That will pave way for us. It means we will win the gubernatorial election.”

The ADC chairman also boasted of stability within his party, saying, “There is no fight in our party. We are managing our affairs perfectly.”
Though rumours have been circulating about Adeleke’s planned defection to the APC, the governor has publicly denied any such intention.
