As we inch closer to 2027, the political atmosphere in Oyo State is beginning to heat up. Conversations are shifting from current governance to succession, and rightly so. For a state that has enjoyed relative peace, infrastructural growth, and purposeful governance under Governor Seyi Makinde, it is only natural that citizens and stakeholders begin to ask: Who Who next?
For me, the answer is clear and without hesitation, Ambassador Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja is the man Oyo State needs at this critical juncture. We cannot afford to gamble with leadership in 2027. Oyo deserves continuity—not just in words, but in action. Ambassador Arapaja represents that bridge between the present and the future. He is no stranger to governance. As a former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, a former Ambassador to Jordan and Iraq, and now the Deputy National Chairman (South) of the PDP, Arapaja has built an enviable résumé steeped in public service, diplomacy, and political stability.

Leadership is not theory—it is practice. Arapaja has walked the path. He understands not just the challenges of governance, but the solutions that work. His humility, accessibility, and loyalty to the party over the years are unmatched. Even in his current national role, he has continued to promote unity, peace, and grassroots mobilization.

Governor Seyi Makinde has raised the bar, no doubt. He has shown what is possible when a leader puts people above politics. But the baton must now pass to someone who shares that same vision, not someone who sees Oyo State as a political experiment. We need a leader—not a learner. Arapaja is not coming to learn the ropes; he helped build the ropes.
As a committed youth leader and proud member of the PDP in Ona Ara Local Government, I strongly believe that Amb. Arapaja is the best and most prepared candidate to take the mantle in 2027. His emergence would not only consolidate the gains of the Makinde administration but also open new doors of development across all zones of the state.
Let the conversation begin not based on tribe, noise, or money politics—but on capacity, competence, and character. Oyo cannot afford to move backwards. Let us choose wisely. Let us support Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja.
