Ona Ara LG Chair, Dr. GLORIOUS, Flags Off Distribution of FG Palliatives to Vulnerable Residents

The Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, has commenced the distribution of federal government palliatives to vulnerable residents within the council area.

The distribution took place today at the local government Annex Secretariat in Ogbere Housing Estate, reaching various households, communities, traditional rulers, religious organizations, public boarding schools, civil societies, the Red Cross, youth organizations, community development councils, people living with disabilities, and other vulnerable members of the community.

During the distribution of grains and garri, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, along with the Vice Chairman and Political Head, INUKAN LCDA, Hon . Windapo Oluwole commended the 15-member committee for their sincerity of purpose, transparency, and fairness in ensuring that the materials reached the most needy people in the community.

According to Dr. GLORIOUS, the distribution of relief materials aims to alleviate the hardship, economic challenges, and persistent inflation faced by the residents. He expressed confidence in the palliative distribution committee’s efforts to ensure the aid reaches all parts of the council area, particularly targeting the most vulnerable.

Dr. GLORIOUS highlighted the smooth and efficient distribution process, while applauding the security agencies for their cooperation in making it a hitch-free exercise.

Reacting on behalf of other beneficiaries, the representative of the WAI Brigade/Red Cross commended the prompt actions of both the federal and state governments in addressing the plight of Nigerians. He noted that the palliatives would bring relief to many households in Ona Ara Local Government, ensuring that the most vulnerable members of the community are not left behind.

This joint effort by the local government has ensured that aid reaches those who need it most. We’re glad to receive it, and it will be utilized efficiently and effectively,” he said.

Also speaking on behalf of the students, the NANS Chairman, Comrade Adegoke Ridwan Ademola, appreciated the government’s efforts during this trying period. He further called for continued support from the government to ensure that palliative measures are directed to the grassroots and the student populace.

The distribution of the palliatives will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the lives of many students, alleviating hunger, reducing poverty, and promoting economic recovery.
