OMOLUABI PROGRESSIVES Launches Oyo State Chapter in Grand Style— A New Force For Value-Driven Politics
In a vibrant and well-attended event, the Omoluabi Progressives today officially launches its Oyo State Chapter, marking a new milestone in its mission to restore values, truth, and integrity to Nigerian politics. The event, led by the Chairman of Omoluabi Progressives, Alhaji Issa Adesiji Azeez, from Osun State, in collaboration with Honourable Bolanle Aminat Sarumi (BASA), former Senior Special Assistant on Diaspora and Investment to the Oyo State Government under Governor Seyi Makinde. Hon. Sarumi, a respected woman of virtue and daughter of the late Alli Balogun Sarumi (popularly known as Ali Bay), attended with her dynamic BASA Movement team.
Unity Across Oyo State
Delegations from all five zones of Oyo State—Ibadan, Oke Ogun, Ibarapa, Ogbomosho, and Oyo—were fully represented, along with delegates from all fourteen Federal Constituencies in the state, showcasing the broad reach and grassroots strength of the movement.
ADC Welcomes Omoluabi Progressives to Oyo
Speaking at the event, the Oyo State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Alhaji Yinka Olona, hailed the entry of Omoluabi Progressives into the state. He declared that “every good Yoruba blood should be an Omoluabi”, pledging to nurture the movement until its principles take deep root in the ADC, with the ultimate goal of winning the 2027 Oyo State governorship election.
Women and Youth at the Centre
In her remarks, Hon. Bolanle Sarumi, expressed dissatisfaction with the current PDP-led government in Oyo State for failing to carry women along in governance. She applauded the former Governor of Osun State and current ADC National Secretary for his commitment to the 35% quota for women and youth inclusiveness, and urged women across Oyo State and Nigeria to take their rightful place in politics, stressing that active participation is the only way to secure fair representation.
Values as the Foundation for Governance
Launching the Oyo State Chapter, Alhaji Issa Adesiji Azeez described the Omoluabi Progressives as a grassroots mobilization platform for the ADC in Yorubaland. He explained that the group exists to preach good virtues, uphold truth, and instill discipline in politics, lamenting that the absence of these qualities has been a major reason politicians fail in governance.

The event was marked by colourful displays, music, and a celebratory atmosphere as the people of Oyo State embraced the Omoluabi Progressives with open minds. The launch has set the tone for an intensified grassroots movement that will continue to spread across Yorubaland, building momentum towards 2027.
