The convergence, organised by the NYC Saki East Chapter, emphasised youth uniformity, collective responsibility, and purposeful collaboration, drawing participants from the five major towns in the local government area—Ogbooro, Agbonle, Oje, Owode, and Sepeteri.
The programme attracted notable stakeholders, including the Grand Chief Imam of Ogbooro, a representative of the Chairman of Saki East Local Government, Senator Ishak Yusuf Oyetunji, the President of the National Association of Oke Ogun Students (NAOSS), the FOSSU Senate President-Elect, as well as students’ union presidents from the respective towns.

Speaking at the event, the Coordinator of the Nigerian Youth Congress, Saki East Chapter, Ambassador Sam Adeleke, urged youths to prioritise capacity building, positive values, and progressive thinking as key drivers of personal growth and societal advancement. He stressed that the future of Saki East rests heavily on the readiness of its youths to develop relevant skills, sustain unity, and contribute productively to community development.
As part of the chapter’s commitment to educational advancement, Ambassador Adeleke announced that the NYC Saki East Chapter will sponsor ten secondary school students across the local government for the 2026 UTME (JAMB) examination, describing the initiative as a deliberate intervention to ease financial burden and expand access to higher education. He also disclosed plans to execute small-scale physical projects aimed at promoting orderliness and supporting sustainable development within communities.
The NYC coordinator commended Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for the ongoing rehabilitation of the Saki–Ogbooro–Igboho road, noting the positive impact of the project on socio-economic activities in the area. He further appealed to the governor to extend similar intervention to the Agbonle–Ogbooro road to improve connectivity and ease of movement for residents.
In his remarks, the Grand Chief Imam of Ogbooro applauded the Nigerian Youth Congress for the successful organisation of the programme and pledged continued support for youth-focused initiatives that promote peace, unity, and development across Saki East.

The event ended on a note of renewed hope, collective responsibility, and a shared resolve among Saki East youths to remain active partners in the growth and transformation of their communities.
