Tension heightened on Monday during a demonstration captured live on ESET TV as protesters called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene and release the detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
The demonstrators, mostly from the eastern region, said their anger was not directed at the federal government but at political figures from the South-East, whom they accused of frustrating efforts to secure Kanu’s freedom.
