The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has issued an alert on the emergence of a new sect, ACHAD life Mission International, which according to the NIS is neither linked to Islam nor Christianity but preaches restoration of African tradition.
A circular signed by the Principal Staff Officer to the Comptroller-General of Immigrations, Dr Adedotun Aridegbe, urged all its service directorates, zones, training institutions, commands and border formations to take note of this development.
According to the NIS, the sect which has its headquarters in Kaduna, with its leader, one Mr Yokana living in Jos, might be involved in human trafficking and child separation.
The circular also stated that the sect has been canvassing for members within and outside Nigeria.
It urged immigration service formations to stay vigilant and report immediately any sign of the sect’s presence and where possible, arrest and revert accordingly.
