1.The price of petrol has increased for the second time in three weeks, now selling at N1,020 at Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) outlets in Lagos and N1,050 in Abuja.

2.Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Group, urged petroleum marketers, including the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, to purchase petrol directly from his refinery to fulfill local demand, asserting that this would eliminate fuel queues.

 

3.Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, proposed a budget of N498 billion for the state’s 2025 fiscal year. Similarly, Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, presented a N375.79 billion budget for 2025 to the state House of Assembly.

4. Minister of Police Affairs Ibrahim Gaidam expressed concern over the lack of information sharing among law enforcement agencies, warning that this could impede crime reduction efforts. He cautioned agencies against maintaining this strategy amid rising insecurity across the country.

5.President Bola Tinubu launched the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem and Appeal Fund on Tuesday at the State House, praising the Armed Forces for their vital role in national defense.

6. On Tuesday, the Naira strengthened in the official market, trading at N1,630.45 to the dollar. This marks a 2.40% increase compared to the previous day, when it was valued at N1,670.65 to the dollar, according to FMDQ trading data.

7. The Senate has delayed the screening of seven ministerial nominees originally scheduled for Tuesday. Senator Basheer Lado, the Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, announced this change to allow the nominees to complete necessary documentation.

8. The Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as the Amotekun Corps, has apprehended 27 individuals linked to various criminal activities in the state, including kidnapping, theft, murder, and burglary.

9. The House of Representatives has resolved to investigate Alex Ikwechegh, the lawmaker representing Aba South/Aba North Federal Constituency, who was arrested on Monday for allegedly assaulting an Uber driver, Mr. Stephen Abuwatseya, during a package delivery at his Abuja residence.

10. The All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended former Interior Minister Rauf Aregbesola for alleged anti-party activities and criticisms of President Bola Tinubu and former Governor Chief Bisi Akande. Aregbesola, a two-term governor, publicly opposed his successor, Adegoyega Oyetola, during the recent election.

11. Hon. Chief (Dr.) Ezekiel Temitope Oladimeji—OTOPE, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party in Egbeda-Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, has extended heartfelt condolences to Chief Bayo Lawal, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Makinde, on the passing of his beloved wife, Justice Beatrice Adesuwa Lawal (rtd.).

Dr. OTOPE prayed, “May God comfort the Lawal family and grant Justice Beatrice Lawal eternal rest. May her legacy of compassion, integrity, and service continue to guide us.”
