As part of the new plan, the NCC has capped the number of tariff plans that operators can offer to a maximum of seven. To address concerns over rapid data depletion, the Commission clarified that telecom operators are not responsible for high data consumption. Instead, the type of mobile device used plays a significant role in how quickly data is consumed.
The NCC is also running awareness campaigns to help consumers better understand these issues and choose the right devices for their needs. Through these efforts, the Commission aims to create a more transparent and consumer-friendly telecommunications market in Nigeria.
