Naira Marley Arrested Over Death Of Mohbad? – Fresh Fact Emerge
A widely circulated video on Facebook claims to show the arrest of Nigerian singer Naira Marley and socialite Samson Balogun, known as Sam Larry, by Nigeria’s Department of State Services (DSS).
This comes amidst controversial rumors following the sudden death of Nigerian singer Aloba Promise, known as Mohbad, on September 12, 2023.
Mohbad, previously signed to Marlian Records owned by Naira Marley, had publicly expressed concerns about his safety and pointed to Marley in the event of any harm.
Marley has called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances of Mohbad’s death, which has led to discussions about the treatment of musicians by labels in Nigeria.
The video in question has garnered millions of views and likes on Facebook.

However, the police have denied reports of Marley’s arrest and stated that neither the Department of State Services nor the police have detained anyone in connection with Mohbad’s death.
The spokesperson for the Lagos annex of the police’s criminal investigations department, Oluniyi Ogundeyi, clarified that the reports of Marley’s arrest are false and baseless.
As of September 22, no arrests have been made, and the Lagos state police command has established a panel to investigate the musician’s death, with the state governor pledging a thorough inquiry.
