As Muslims around the world mark the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Nigerian-Canadian Hon. Segun Olaleye Thomas (SOT), former House of Representatives aspirant for Oyo Federal Constituency, has joined in celebrating with the Muslim Ummah in Oyo State — with a heartfelt greeting to the people of Afijio Local Government.
Hon. Thomas described the occasion as a time to reflect on the Prophet’s message of love, peace, justice, and compassion, values which he said are needed now more than ever in families, communities, and the nation at large.
“On this special day, I celebrate with my Muslim brothers and sisters, especially the good people of Afijio. May we continue to draw strength from the Prophet’s teachings and allow them to guide our steps toward unity and progress,” he said.
He prayed for peace and prosperity across Oyo State and Nigeria, while encouraging everyone to embrace tolerance, forgiveness, and mutual respect in their daily lives.
Wishing Muslims a blessed Mawlid Al-Nabi, Hon. Thomas added that “May the light of the Prophet’s example shine brightly in our homes and communities, and may this celebration bring us closer to building a society founded on peace and love.”
