It’s undeniable that under Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration in Oyo State has experienced remarkable development within just five years, earning him the accolade of the most beloved Governor in the state’s history.
Prior to Governor Makinde’s tenure, the landscape of urban development and tourism in Ibadan, Oyo State, lacked substantial progress. However, his administration’s arrival marked a pivotal shift from Poverty to Prosperity.
Despite some dissenting voices questioning Governor Makinde’s leadership, it’s essential to confront such skepticism with factual evidence. Commissioner Williams Akin-Funmilayo, overseeing the Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Urban Development, has been instrumental in driving these transformative initiatives.
His diligent efforts in revitalizing dormant lands and expanding the state’s economy through urbanization are commendable. Notable projects like the Lere Adigun GRAs, Rashid Adewolu Ladoja in Ajoda Town, Baba Koleoso Area, emerging Baywood Estate, and the Dr. Omololu Olunloyo International Park at Airport-Alakia Road signify substantial strides towards Oyo State’s extensive growth.
