Egalitarian Voice reports that the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde has dismissed speculations surrounding his recent meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reaffirming that he remains firmly rooted in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking after the meeting in Abuja, Makinde stated unequivocally, “I am comfortable in the PDP,” noting that his engagement with the President was motivated by national interest rather than partisan considerations.
The governor explained that Nigeria’s current socio-economic and security challenges demand cooperation across political parties, stressing that governance should rise above political divides. According to him, meaningful progress can only be achieved when leaders are willing to engage constructively, regardless of party affiliation.

Makinde emphasized that his approach to leadership has always been people-centered, adding that dialogue and collaboration have helped his administration attract development and deliver results in Oyo State.

He further assured party supporters that his bipartisan engagements do not amount to political realignment, but rather reflect statesmanship and responsibility in leadership.
Political observers say the governor’s comments underline a growing call for unity and pragmatic governance, especially at a time when Nigerians expect leaders to prioritize solutions over political rivalry.
