Governor Seyi Makinde has officially approved the nomination of High Chief Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, in what marks a historic milestone for the ancient city’s cultural and traditional heritage.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Oyo State Government confirmed that the governor gave his assent after due consultations and the formal recommendation of the Olubadan-in-Council, the revered traditional kingmakers of Ibadan.
The coronation of the former Oyo State Governor will take place on September 26, 2025, at the iconic Mapo Hall, Ibadan — the historic venue where successive Olubadans have been crowned.
