Former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), despite publicly endorsing the opposition coalition spearheaded by the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Speaking at an empowerment program in Dutse, the state capital, Lamido declared his commitment to the PDP as “unquestionable,” describing the party as his political foundation and legacy.

“Yes, I support the coming together of the opposition under the ADC, but let it be known I will never leave the PDP. I built this house with my sweat and soul. My role now is to offer guidance and ensure Nigeria finds her way back,” Lamido stated.

While pledging support for the ADC-led coalition, Lamido emphasized that the alliance among opposition parties is crucial to rescuing Nigeria from the grip of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which he accused of gross misgovernance at both federal and state levels.
He further criticized the APC administration, saying:
“The three PDP federal lawmakers from Jigawa are serving the people. APC lawmakers? They’re serving only themselves. Let the people judge.”
Lamido also condemned the APC and federal government over what he called a hypocritical response to the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, echoing ADC’s stance on the matter.
In a symbolic show of opposition unity, Lamido introduced Kabiru Hussaini, the state chairman of the ADC, to a PDP gathering during the event.
His remarks add momentum to ongoing efforts to unify Nigeria’s opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
PDP CRISIS: I Won’t Attend PDP Meetings Until Wike, Ortom Are Expelled — Sule Lamido
Former Jigawa State Governor and PDP chieftain, Sule Lamido, has vowed not to attend any party meetings until key figures like Nyesom Wike and Samuel Ortom are expelled from the party. In a candid interview with journalists, Lamido criticized the PDP’s leadership for tolerating individuals who, in his view, have worked against the party’s interest. “Someone like Wike, who claims to love the PDP but is clearly undermining it, should be expelled by the NWC. Why hasn’t that happened?” he questioned.
Lamido also condemned the continued presence of former Benue Governor Samuel Ortom in the PDP’s Board of Trustees, citing his support for Peter Obi in the 2023 elections. He insisted that figures like Ortom and Anyanwu, whom he described as “impostors,” have no moral standing to lead party affairs. “I remain a PDP member, but I will not participate in any meetings or functions while these individuals remain in leadership,” he declared.
