A public briefing held by Break the Silence Foundation, a non-profit advocating justice for late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba known as Mohbad, was disrupted on Wednesday at Radisson Blu in Lagos State.
The disruption occurred when Yomi Fabiyi, an actor and the convener of the media briefing, said Adura, Mohbad’s sibling, told him on Instagram that he knew the cause of the singer’s death.
Fabiyi’s statement enraged Abosede, Mohbad’s mother, who accused the actor of trying to implicate Adura and put him in harm’s way.

“He sold his phone. It was those who bought the phone that chatted with him [Fabiyi]. It was not Adura. Everyone knows that. I went to a police station and asked Damola what my son did to him,” the woman said.

“He was prostrating and pleading that he did not know it would end that way. He confessed everything he knew to the extent that Adura was threatening to institute a court action against him.
“Adura is not outspoken. It is this issue that is forcing him to speak out. I usually force him to speak with me since his brother died. He would just be staring into the space weeping.”
Addressing Fabiyi, Mohbad’s mother said, “Many people have made me realise it was not Adura. I initially thought you intervened to help us but I later realised you want to kill my son [Adura].
“You said he was the one chatting with you, but everybody knew he was not the one. You are now coordinating a conference because of him. Do you want to ruin his image?”
