JUST IN: NLC Reacts To Reports Of Indefinite Strike
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has refuted circulating reports claiming it has initiated an indefinite nationwide strike.
Although online reports suggested the union began its planned strike on Friday following the expiration of its ultimatum to the federal government on Thursday, the NLC stated that such reports are untrue.

The organised labour had previously issued a 14-day ultimatum, threatening to shut down the country’s economy in protest of the government’s failure to meet their demands, particularly in providing adequate palliatives to offset the effects of fuel subsidy removal.
Despite government efforts to avert an indefinite strike, the union remains steadfast in its stance to proceed with the economic shutdown if its demands are not met.

As workers await further instructions, it is advised to dismiss the viral reports claiming the strike has commenced, as stated by NLC’s Head of Department for Information and Public Affairs, Benson Upah.
