Just Before Eid, State Governor Approves Bonus for Civil Servants and Pensioners
In a move aimed at boosting the morale of workers and ensuring a joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Dauda Lawal, has approved the immediate payment of Sallah bonuses to all civil servants and pensioners across the state.
According to a statement released by the Office of the Head of Service, the Sallah bonus initiative is part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to prioritize workers’ welfare and demonstrate appreciation for their commitment and service.
Governor Lawal, who has consistently emphasized the importance of workers in driving development in Zamfara State, stated that the bonus is both a gesture of gratitude and a practical step to ease financial burdens during the festive period.
“Our administration is committed to improving the livelihoods of our workers and retirees. Approving the Sallah bonus is a reflection of our sincere appreciation for their dedication and a way to ensure they celebrate Eid with ease and happiness,” the governor said.
The Head of Service, Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Gayari, confirmed that the approved bonuses would be disbursed before the end of the week to enable beneficiaries to make adequate preparations for the Eid-el-Kabir festivities.

Civil servants and pensioners have lauded the governor’s decision, describing it as timely and thoughtful. Many expressed joy over the announcement, noting that this is the first time in recent years that such a gesture is being extended ahead of a major celebration.
This development comes amidst ongoing reforms by the Lawal-led administration to revamp the state’s civil service structure, clear outstanding gratuities, and enhance transparency and efficiency in government payroll systems.
