IYD2024: Nigerian Youth Congress Oyo State Chapter Celebrates Youth, Urges Them to Remain Focused
Today, August 12th, marks the annual celebration of International Youth Day, a day set aside by the United Nations to recognize and empower the world’s youth. In commemoration of this special day, the Oyo State Chapter of the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC) is proud to join the global community in celebrating the vibrant youth of our nation.
Comrade Abulfatai Adeyemi (Legacy), State Chairman of NYC, released a press statement urging all youth to remain focused, committed, and dedicated to their dreams and aspirations. “As we celebrate International Youth Day, we recognize the potential and power of our youth to drive positive change and development in our society,” he said.
Adeyemi emphasized the importance of youth participation in nation-building, stressing that the future of Nigeria depends on the actions and decisions of its youth today. He encouraged young people to take ownership of their future and work towards creating a better Nigeria for themselves and generations to come.
The press release was made available to newsmen in Ibadan through the group’s Director of Media and Publicity, Egalitarian Segun Akinlabi. Akinlabi noted that the NYC Oyo State Chapter is committed to empowering and supporting youth development initiatives in the state.
As part of the celebrations, the NYC Oyo State Chapter has planned a series of events and activities aimed at engaging and inspiring young people. These include youth forums, mentorship programs, and community service projects.
In his message, Adeyemi thanked all partners and stakeholders who have supported the NYC Oyo State Chapter in its mission to empower and uplift the youth of Oyo State. He also called on government agencies, corporate organizations, and individuals to join hands with the NYC in promoting youth development and empowerment.
