In this moment of grief, Honourable Bolanle Aminat Sarumi, known as BASA, extends her deepest condolences to the people of Oyo State, particularly the families of the victims, over the tragic stampede that occurred at Islamic High School, Basorun, Ibadan today, Wednesday, 18th December, 2024.
The school was hosting a funfair carnival for students, meant to be a joyful celebration, when the unfortunate incident occurred, resulting in multiple loss of lives and injuries. The news of this tragedy has sent shockwaves throughout my local government, Ibadan North, and the state, leaving many in a state of despair.
“My heart goes out to the victims’ families and loved ones impacted by this tragedy,” Hon. (Mrs) Bolanle Aminat Sarumi A.A. stated.
“I can only imagine the pain and grief that they must be going through, and I want to assure them that they are not alone in this difficult time.”
BASA joins the entire state in mourning the loss of these young lives and pray that the Almighty grants the families the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May the souls of the departed rest in peace.
