In a recent media chat, Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, actually praised President Bola Tinubu’s decision to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State, saying the president “saved the situation” and “saved Rivers people”.
Wike expressed some disappointment that Governor Siminalayi Fubara wasn’t outright removed, but acknowledged the president’s intervention was necessary to restore peace and order.
