As part of efforts to celebrate and honour some selected young people across the Pace Setter State, the Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide YCYW Oyo-State Council is set to honor 100 outstanding youths with the Ọmọluabi Pàtàkì Awards.
The award is a youth-centered annual event under the Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide Oyo State, led by Aṣojú Ọdọ Alawode Rahmon Akintunde.
This was contained in a report made available to newsmen in Ibadan, signed by the Publicity Chairman of Omoluabi Committee, Ọgbẹni Akinkunmi Akinpelu. And it reads: The human resources of Oyo-State are greatly entrenched in the minds of the youth.
The youths continue to work tirelessly, day and night, to put Oyo State on the global map through their innovative and creative ideas. To encourage more youths to be hardworking and diligent in their respective fields, the Omoluabi Festival and Awards was founded and launched by Kabiesi Oba Babatunde Eniitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, Ọọni of Ife in 2018 where he endorsed every 1st of May as the World Omoluabi Day and to be celebrated in Odùduwà House, Ilé Ife.
The mission of the Omoluabi Festival is to unveil the greatness of Yoruba future by inspiring, transforming, celebrating, and empowering its new, best, and brightest young leaders’ success stories. Since 2018, the Ooni of Ife has honored and celebrated outstanding Yoruba personalities every year.
This has about to be birthed in Oyo-State as the Oyo State Government through the ministry of culture and Tourism has endorsed every 2nd October of the year to be celebrating Omoluabi Festival in the state.
