[OPINION]: How Is Governor Makinde Piloting The Affairs Of Oyo State Like This? He Really Needs Our Joint Support
The way Governor Makinde is piloting the affairs of Oyo State is commendable – MOE Says
On May 29th, 2019, Governor Abiodun Seyi Makinde, Dsc. GSSRS, KJW, assumed the office of Oyo State Governor as the fifth democratically elected governor of Oyo State since the 1999 full-fledged democratic era in our dear country, Nigeria. People saw him as a novice in politics, hence the name “Audio Governor” because he has never occupied any political office(s) before and this has not happen in the history of Oyo State that a man who hasn’t occupy any political seat was sworn-in as the Executive Governor of the state.
Right from the day he resumed office, he tagged the administration OMITUNTUN 1.O, all his policies and ways of governing the state are friendly and masses benefit oriented. His achievements in OMITUNTUN 1.0 are speakable and visible.
Again, His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde FNSE was sworn in as a second term governor on May 29th, 2023 at Liberty Stadium, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Within this short period of OMITUNTUN 2.0, a lot of activities has happened such Amalgamated of all Transport Workers, creation of new agency named “Oyo State Mobilization Agency for Socio-Economic Development (OMASED) which will be saddled with the responsibility of local sensitization on traditional and modern means across the state.
To set the record straight, Governor Seyi Makinde broke another record in the state by bridging gaps among the public transporters by roofing them under the state transport service, Park Management Systemv(PMS) to institute friendliness and enabling economic environment to both local and foreign investors.
Recently, Governor Makinde had broken the bridge between Tommy, Ejiogbe, Baba Bola, Weere, Tokyo, Alubankudi by bridging them together as an entity under the umbrella of Park Management System (PMS), after the former Chairman, Disciplinary Committee,PMS, Chief Lamidi Mukaila ‘Auxiliary’ was formally retired with no or little hitch recorded in the process. This is a big deal because such action has never been taken by any past Governor of the state without involving public unrest.

Continuing, Governor Makinde has just announced the deployment of more Omituntun Buses For Residents, Slashes Charges By 50% set-up committee to review Civil Servants salary scale as a result of providing palliative measures to tackle the fuel subsidy removal from the Federal Government of Nigeria. Governor Makinde is a passionate leader.
If we all would remember, towards the end of Omituntun 1.0, Governor Makinde approved the Dualization of Akobo, Ojurin/Odogbo Baracks Olorunda Abaa Junction. Behold! This gigantic project will be Flagged-off tomorrow Friday June 9th, 2023 as the First Project to be unveiled Under Omituntun 2.0.
What a talk and do Governor will have in our dear State. How he is governing the state is commendable and he really needs our joint support to take our dear state into a sustainable development, growth and prosperity under Omituntun 2.0
