Kano state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf on Sunday faced a hostile reception from angry youths at the Kofar Mata Eid ground.
The governor encountered jeers along State Road, near the Nassarawa Royal House, where Emir Bayero was scheduled to attend the Eid Prayer.
Eyewitnesses heard the crowd chanting, “Bamayi, Allah ya isa,” translating to “We are not in support, and Allah is sufficient for us.”
In a separate incident, Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was targeted by stone-throwing youths near Festival Primary School within Kano metropolis.
A viral video captured voices exclaiming, “Jifa suke, jifa suke,” meaning “they are stoning, they are stoning.”
Similarly, the Emir faced another attack at Zage, prompting security forces to fire warning shots to disperse the crowd and swiftly escort him back to his palace.

Egalitarian voice recalls that the governor had announced the reinstatement of Emir Sanusi ll, who was deposed by former governor, Abdullahi Ganduje in 2020.
The move led to his reinstatement four years after the immediate past governor of the North-West state Abdullahi Ganduje deposed him.
Earlier, a Federal High Court in Kano ruled in favour of the dethroned Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, ordering the Kano State Government to pay him N10 million in damages for fundamental human rights violations.
Justice S. A. Amobeda, in his judgment, ordered the state government to pay the dethroned Emir of Kano the sum of N10,000,000.00 (Ten Million Naira) only for the breach of his fundamental rights to personal liberty and freedom of movement guaranteed under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

The judge declared that the act of the Kano Governor in directing the police to “arrest the Applicant without any lawful justification is a threatened breach of the fundamental right to Liberty of the Applicant guaranteed under Section 35(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as altered)”.
