A loyal and vibrant disciple of the PDP National Secretary, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, rising party stakeholder in Ona-Ara, Member Venue Committee for 2025 PDP National Convention, Hon. Olumide Oduola (popularly known as ALAYAKI ỌNA-ÁRÁ), has praised the defection of former Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing it as “a defining political moment for Oyo State.”“a defining political moment for Oyo State.”
Speaking with Egalitarian Voice, Hon. Oduola said Adekanmbi’s decision reflects the renewed confidence in the leadership structure cultivated by Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja at the national level and further strengthened by Governor Seyi Makinde’s performance-driven administration in Oyo State.
He noted that Adekanmbi’s entry into the PDP is a major addition to the party’s strength, especially within Ona-Ara, where the political climate is shifting toward greater alignment, unity, and grassroots mobilisation.
“Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi is a technocrat with an impressive track record in public finance. His coming into the PDP is not just a welcome development; it is a strategic gain for the party. This is the kind of political movement that shows the PDP remains the home of competent, credible, and progressive minds,” ALAYAKI ỌNA-ÁRÁ stated.
He lauded Governor Seyi Makinde, noting that the governor’s developmental strides, transparency, and people-first policies have made the PDP increasingly attractive to technocrats and professionals.
He also commended Ambassador Arapaja for providing steady, inclusive leadership at the national level, saying the National Secretary’s influence continues to inspire loyalty, cohesion, and confidence among party members across the Southwest. “Ambassador Arapaja has given the PDP a unique identity—discipline, maturity, and strategic organisation. Many of us who believe in his leadership philosophy see the PDP as a movement that people like Adekanmbi naturally gravitate toward,” Oduola added.
“With the calibre of leaders joining the PDP, the message is clear: Oyo State is aligning with progress. The future of our politics is taking shape, and the PDP is at the center of it,” he said. Hon. Oduola concluded by affirming that the PDP in Ona-Ara is ready for a new phase of political growth, strengthened by the entry of individuals who share the vision of unity, good governance, and sustainable development.
