Hon. Bolanle Aminat Sarumi A.A (BASA), a passionate advocate for social development and women empowerment, has expressed her heartfelt condolences over the passing of Alhaji Ramoni Ogunrinde, the Chairman of PDP Ward 5 in Ibadan North Local Government Area.
Though BASA recently announced her resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), she acknowledged the invaluable role Alhaji Ogunrinde played within the PDP and especially within the BASA Movement during her time in the party.
The loss of Alhaji Ramoni Ogunrinde is deeply personal,” BASA stated. “He was a committed leader, a grassroots mobilizer, and a steadfast supporter of progressive politics. While I may have moved on from the PDP, I cannot forget the pivotal role he played in the advancement of our movement and the unity he helped foster in Ibadan North.”
She described Alhaji Ogunrinde as a man of principle who earned respect through humility and service. He was more than a party chairman, he was a symbol of loyalty, wisdom, and fatherly guidance. His leadership at the ward level contributed significantly to the growth and strength of the PDP during our active years together,” BASA added.
Hon. BASA offered prayers for the late leader’s soul and extended sympathies to his family and political associates. May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljana Firdaws. I pray for comfort for his family, and for the PDP Ward 5 community as they grieve this irreplaceable loss.”
She concluded by urging all to carry forward the legacy of service and sincerity that Alhaji Ogunrinde embodied, his passing is a painful reminder of the importance of unity and selfless leadership. Even as political tides shift, the impact of people like Alhaji Ogunrinde endures.”
